How should I properly load a dumpster?

When it comes to renting a dumpster in Rhode Island, one thing you might be unsure of is loading practices. When you are filling up a dumpster, you have to be very careful about what you do and do not put into that device. However, one of the most common mistakes that you could make is ordering the wrong size of dumpster. Before you order your dumpster rental RI,

speak to the local company that you intend to hire from.

They can then run through the dumpster rules and regulations with you. At the same time, you can tell them exactly what you are putting into the dumpster and they can tell you what can and cannot be included. However, it’s also important that you fill out your dumpster with the right loading. This will ensure that you can both fit more into the dumpster and ensure that it won’t be incorrectly balanced.

So, what do you need to do if you are going to fill out your dumpster? Where should you start?

Pre-organize your loads

First off, make sure you time the time to organize everything that is going into the dumpster in the first place. you should look to try and make sure that the flattest items go to the bottom first. The items that can be most easily squashed down and flattened are most useful to have at the bottom. This will retain a sense of balance to the whole dumpster, and ensure that you are not going to miss areas where you could have got in more debris.

Put in similar objects together

Try and compartmentalize the dumpster so that similar items can go in together. This helps them to make sure that gaps are reduced and minimized as much as is possible, reducing the amount of room that is being taken up by items and allowing for maximum storage

space.

You should definitely look to do this as similar objects being put in together will be very important moving forward. It will help to get more into the dumpster, but also makes it easier to know what sections require more room than others.

Fill evenly

One of the most common mistakes when using a dumpster is to try and fill one side to the brim before moving to the next side. Try and make sure that you fill it up from top to bottom as opposed to from side to side. Side to side filling is more likely to collapse and thus cause a mess. This will also make sure that you can plan everything out accordingly without wasting valuable time. We offer 3 different size dumpsters rentals. 10 yard dumpster, 15 yard dumpster, & our 20 yard dumpster.

Look for the line

The edge of your dumpster, where you should fill to, is the top edge of the dumpster. Anything that flows above the top of the dumpster is likely to be seen as excessive and thus could see an extra charge put on top, or the collection rejected.

Make sure that you get a larger dumpster if you start to notice that the dumpster you do have isn’t big enough for the job. Make sure to contact the dumpster rental company in Rhode Island and find out what they recommend in terms of size based on your project. Whether our project is small or big, we're your best option for when it comes to dumpster rentals in Rhode Island.
